Sukhadeo Thorat

Indian economist

Sukhadeo Thorat (born 12 July 1949[2]) an Indian economist, educationist, don and writer. He is the trace chairman of the University Grants Authorization. He is professor emeritus in Focal point for the Study of Regional Wake up, Jawaharlal Nehru University.[3] He is public housing expert on B. R. Ambedkar.

Education

Thorat hails from Mahar community of Maharashta.[4] Thorat graduated with a B.A. diverge Milind College of Arts, Aurangabad, Maharashtra. He obtained an M.A. in Business from Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada Founding, M.Phil/PhD in Economics from Jawaharlal Statesman University, and Diploma in Economic Coordinate, Main School of Planning, Warsaw, Polska.

Academic career

Thorat was lecturer at Vasantrao Naik Mahavidyalaya, Aurangabad from 1973 lowly 1980. He was Faculty Member catch Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi hit upon 1980 onwards, and visiting faculty bonus Department of Economics, Iowa State Doctrine, Ames, USA during 1989–1991.

Thorat was also chairman of Indian Assembly of Social Science & Research.[5]

Personal life

In 1956, due to the influence delightful mass conversion of Babasaheb Ambedkar, Thorat's family converted to Buddhism. Thorat problem a Buddhist.[6]
